With only 20 school days left, the race to the finish is on! Don't panic, don't quit, just keep grinding it out until you hit Memorial Day! Here's how the classes are shaping up:
In Algebra, the daily sermon about doing your homework, checking your work (when you do it) and asking questions continues to fall on deaf ears. With so many resources available to students, there's only so much a teacher can do. Sometimes you can kick the horse into the water and he still won't drink.
Algebra II is the perfect bell-curve, with most kids at a solid C that can bump up to a B with the last two tests and final. While there's some who could better take advantage of their resources, we also have some who are busting their tails and should be very proud of their hard work (you know who you are!).
PreCalc has rounded the corner and is speeding down the home stretch. With our trigonometry unit behind us, kids are getting their groove back. Over half the class with As and Bs!
We have the full spectrum of students in my room and now we see what everyone is made of. The last few weeks it is so tempting to coast to the end, so just make each day "a normal day." Celebrate with weeks of Netflix binge-watching and Halo marathons after it's over.
Best of luck; I know you can do this!
