Last week we had an informational meeting to see if there would be interest in a potential Game Club. Lots of attendees and loads more who have come to me over the past two weeks to say "Game On!" So it is... on.
Yesterday after school we had our first meeting of Game Club and it was a blast! Despite the plethora of activities ongoing during the fall we had just under 20 kids gather in the library for Dungeons and Dragons, Risk, Settlers of Catan, Saboteur, and a raucous round of 'We Didn't Playtest This at All." We had some veteran games who practically live at Dice to Mice, and others who were learning their first few non-traditional games, but everyone had fun. We discovered a girl who was raised by bears, that the borders of Asia are impossible to defend, you can't build roads with sheep, it is incredibly hard to play a game without using any personal pronouns, and one of my students is an "honest Gold Digger."
If you fancy an afternoon of casual gaming, from D & D to checkers, veteran to noob, then join Game Club in the high school library every Thursday after school!
