Every Thursday 10-15 kids gather in the library for Game Club. Sure, we have the classics like Monopoly and Scrabble available, but most kids play newer co-op or social games. In Saboteur and Resistance, some players are secretly trying to ruin the game for the other team, but pretending to be on our side. In Forbidden Island or Pandemic, all players are working together to save the world or escape with treasure. Some of the more diabolical games like We Didn't Playtest This at All or Munchkin can see your friends help you slay a monster one turn, and shove you in a black hole the next.
Once each month we do Console Night, a festivity of group-oriented video games on the big-screen! The pics at the right show the latest event, a 13-person melee of Mario Party 8. Becca saw the Matrix, Tyler punched Bowser in the snout, and "Team Yoshi" just plain lost (Sorry guys, my fault). Everyone had a blast and people could probably hear us shouting all the way down in the commons!
"The worst thing about the zombie apocalypse will be pretending that I'm not excited."
