First 25% of the semester is in the books and things are shaping up well.
PreCalc is heavy on the B's (a pleasant surprise given how many students missed content in Algebra II last year), with more and more students figuring out that they have to do more to make the cut in a class mast the traditional high school curriculum. Mornings are usually full of banter and PopTarts, and we are picking up steam. I always tell folks that chapters 1 and 4 are the roughest in terms of scores, and our crew has handled the first roadbump with class.
Algebra II looks about like it always does. A gaggle of students who collectively have a 52% homework completion rate are struggling, while the rest of the crew fills out a near-perfect belle curve.
A couple of things for all parents and students to keep in mind as we move through the semester:
Game Club has been rolling along very well, with a pile of 15-25 kids every Thursday for game night. We also are finishing up a month-long Magic: The Gathering lunch league. Prizes awarded this Thursday!

And on a personal note, apparently hell can freeze over more than once! My wife and I spent 10 years thinking we couldn't have kids and now this little hellion will be mentoring the new intern come spring. My wife and I are incredibly excited and more than a little worried. Wee little Patrick is already raising a ruckus with seven teeth coming in simultaneously. Two of these carnivores chewing on our furniture? Oh, boy.
