Last Game Club meeting of the year (pizza and soda, empty calories for all!) met yesterday. It has been a great run this year with a whole pile of freshmen joining the ranks. Once you get past their freshmen-ness, they're good kids. We look forward to ragging on the next batch in the fall.
The year ends with a big announcement and plans for the 2017-2018 round of Game Club, too. With a huge thanks to the Spearfish Foundation for Public Education, we have received a $1500 grant! That's right, kiddos, we are going to load up on new games! To make this gift even sweeter, we are partnering with Dice to Mice, the local Spearfish game shop, so everything stays local and we we have access to some truly creative games.
I am also planning some events and fundraising opportunities for next year to build up a stockpile of consoles and geek gear (t-shirts, anyone?), so Game Club is going to the big leagues. Move over, RAVE and drama... the nerds are taking over!
