Meet Your Dungeon-Master (Roll for Initiative, Please)
Hi All,
I'm Ryan Sullivan (He/Him; call me Ryan, Sullivan, Sully... just no "Mr" or insults) and the ringmaster of this particular circus. For 15 years I've taught 6-12 Math and K-12 Special Education in MN, ND and SD, plus worked at/residential director of group homes in AZ prior. Coming into my classroom, everyone should know the basics 👉 |
|
If you're good with that, we'll get along great. My goal is your goal: either get you the credits so you can move on OR prepare you for the next level. Gather your provisions and assemble your party. Time to venture into the dungeon!

Grading and Assessment
While I would much rather not have grades, it is a contractual requirement. As such, here's the nuts-and-bolts of how students get their letter on a transcript.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do your homework! The overwhelming majority of questions that students and parents have can be answered by reading here and elsewhere on the site.

The Quote Book
We have to be able to laugh at ourselves and, given the unique state of teacher compensation, that presents an opportunity for a someday retirement book! Come, enjoy kids saying the "darnedest things."

Contact Your Party
The Perfect Way: Face to face!
It takes setup, but sitting down and having a conversation is always the best way to go. See that we both have *your education* as our highest priority here.
Please, don't just "drop by," as there is always something going on, a meeting, or a time limit. Use one of these other venues to schedule a visit and come meet in person! "Office Hours" Daily: 0730 - 0800, 1530 - 1645 White Days: 1209 - 1339 |
The Best Way: Remind
Our safe, school-specific messaging app is available to students and parents. Sign up online via email, download the app, or just text a join code to the number #81010. Unless I blast a message to everyone, all conversations are private.
|
The Acceptable Way: E-mail
Tried and true, businesslike.
If you're not on our Remind list, the ideal scenario is to shoot me an email with day/time availability for a visit. Otherwise, some quick back-and-forth works. I get 20-30 emails every day and can be easily overwhelmed (object permanence is a struggle), so send another if I haven't gotten back to you within 48hrs. [email protected] |
The Worst Way: Phone Tag
If we can text or email to set up a phone call, great. In fact, I prefer that to emailing back and forth! The dreaded phone tag is where no one is happy. Honestly, leaving or receiving voicemail messages causes me a lot of anxiety and I tend to avoid them (more so the longer they've gone unanswered). Not proud of it, but there it is.
